Shure MX202B S
The Shure MX202B/S is a Microflex overhead condenser designed to hang above a choir, stage, or ensemble and stay out of sight while capturing the group cleanly. This version carries a supercardioid cartridge, so it focuses on the sound below it and rejects reflections and audience noise from the sides and rear, a real advantage when suspending a mic over a wide source. The black finish and slim profile keep it visually discreet in a hall or house of worship.
The capsule rides on a flexible 4-inch gooseneck at the end of a 30 ft cable that runs to an in-line preamp with a 3-pin XLR output, so the mic can hang high while the electronics and connection stay at the rig. The Microflex cartridge is interchangeable, so the same body can be fitted with cardioid or mini-shotgun elements as a room demands. A stand-mount adapter is included for boom or stand use in addition to overhead suspension.
