Shure MX391 S
The MX391/S is the supercardioid version of Shure's Microflex boundary microphone, a low-profile black condenser that sits flush on a conference table, lectern, or stage floor and picks up talkers without a visible mic in the shot. The supercardioid pattern narrows the pickup toward the speaker in front of it and rejects more of the room than the cardioid or omni models, which helps on a live stage or in a reverberant room where feedback and spill are the enemy. As with the rest of the MX391 series, the condenser cartridge is interchangeable, so the same base can be fitted with a cardioid or omni capsule instead.
A 12 foot attached cable ends in a 4-pin mini connector that plugs into the supplied in-line preamplifier, whose standard 3-pin XLR output feeds any mixer or recorder supplying 12 to 48V phantom power. Its transformerless output stays clean over the run to the console.
