Shure MX391 O
The Shure MX391/O is a Microflex boundary microphone that sits flat on a table, lectern, or floor and picks up everything around it. The omnidirectional cartridge gives a full 360-degree pickup, which suits conference tables, teleconferencing, and stage-floor use where several talkers share one mic. Its low-profile black housing is unobtrusive on a boardroom table or an altar.
A 12 ft attached cable terminates in a 4-pin mini connector that plugs into a detachable in-line preamp with a 3-pin XLR output, keeping the surface unit small while the electronics live at the connection point. The Microflex cartridge system is interchangeable, so cardioid and supercardioid elements can be swapped in when a tighter pattern is needed. It is a wired condenser that runs on phantom power through its preamp.
