Shure MX202B MS

The MX202B/MS is a Microflex overhead condenser designed to hang above a stage, choir, or drama set and pull sound down from a distance. This version carries the lobar mini-shotgun cartridge, whose narrow pickup reaches further out and rejects more off-axis noise than a standard cardioid, making it the choice for suspended miking where the source is well below the mic. The black finish keeps it discreet against a dark ceiling or grid.

A slim four-inch gooseneck at the capsule lets you aim the pickup precisely, and a 30-foot attached cable runs to an in-line preamplifier that terminates in a standard 3-pin XLR for the console or snake. The Microflex interchangeable-cartridge design means the same preamp and hanging hardware can later take a cardioid, supercardioid, or omnidirectional element if the room changes. It ships with a stand-mount adapter for fixed installs.
