Shure MX391W C

The MX391W-A/C is a Microflex boundary condenser with a cardioid cartridge, a low-profile mic that sits flat on a table, lectern, or stage floor for conferences, courtrooms, and presentations. The cardioid pattern, roughly a 130-degree pickup angle, favors the talker in front of it and rejects sound from behind, and the white finish keeps it inconspicuous on a light surface.

A 12-foot attached cable terminates in a 4-pin mini connector that plugs into the detachable in-line preamp with a 3-pin XLR output, so the boundary plate stays clean on the table. The Microflex cartridge is interchangeable, so the cardioid element can be swapped for a supercardioid or omnidirectional pattern as the space requires.
