Tascam CG-2000 Master Clock Generator
The CG-2000 is the reference generator for a facility where a clock dropout is an on-air fault. Its internal oscillator is an oven-controlled crystal, so its accuracy does not wander with room temperature the way a plain crystal does, and a jitter management circuit conditions the outgoing clock rather than passing input jitter straight through.
Two independent power supply circuits and A/B inputs for both video reference and word clock let the unit survive a failed supply or a failed upstream feed without dropping the house. A glitch-free relocking circuit suppresses the noise and skipping that normally accompany a clock dropout and recovery, and an alarm output reports a fault to a monitoring system. Distribution is four BNC video outputs alongside word clock and AES3/11.
