Shure MX185
The MX185 is a Microflex cardioid condenser lavalier tuned for the spoken word - lectures, presentations, broadcast, and worship. Its cardioid pattern favors the wearer and rejects sound from the sides and rear, which helps control feedback and background noise where an omni lav would pick up the whole room. The subminiature capsule keeps it discreet on a lapel.
It uses the Microflex interchangeable-cartridge design, so the cardioid element can be swapped for an omni or supercardioid cartridge without changing mics. A 4-foot attached cable runs to an in-line preamp with a 3-pin XLR output, and the mic ships with a rotatable single tie clip, a dual tie clip, and a snap-fit windscreen.
