Shure MX183
The Shure MX183 is a Microflex omnidirectional lavalier built for lecterns, presenters, and interview work where the mic needs to disappear. The subminiature condenser element clips to a tie or lapel and picks up evenly from every direction, so a speaker can turn their head without the level dropping. It is a wired lav: the capsule terminates in a detachable belt-clip preamp that hands off a balanced signal on a standard 3-pin XLR.
Because the pattern is omnidirectional, the MX183 stays natural and open sounding and resists the wind and handling noise that plague tighter capsules, which makes it a dependable choice for houses of worship, boardrooms, and broadcast. It connects through a 4 ft attached cable to the in-line preamp, and the interchangeable Microflex cartridge system means the same preamp can later host cardioid or supercardioid lavalier elements. It ships with a dual tie clip and a snap-fit windscreen.
