sE Electronics RNR1 Active Ribbon Microphone
The RNR1 was designed with Rupert Neve to solve the ribbon microphone's usual limitation. Where most ribbons roll off well before 20 kHz, the RNR1's hand-crafted 2.5 micron aluminium ribbon combined with Neve's active custom transformer circuit reaches a full 20 Hz to 20 kHz, so you get ribbon character without giving up air.
It is an active design and needs 48 V phantom. Figure-8, 25 mV/Pa, 137 dB max SPL and 17 dB(A) self-noise, with a 100 Hz low-cut on the body. It ships in a metal case inside a wooden box, with a custom shockmount and thread adapter.
