sE Electronics RNT Multi-Pattern Tube Condenser Microphone
The RNT is the flagship of the Rupert Neve collaboration: a hand-crafted 1 inch true condenser running a single 12AU7 tube into Neve-designed custom transformer output electronics. Nine polar patterns run continuously from omni through cardioid to figure-8 with three steps between each, selected from the floor box rather than the mic body.
An on-mic gain switch offers -12, 0 and +12 dB, and a switchable 40 or 80 Hz low-cut at 12 dB per octave handles proximity and rumble. Max SPL is 151 dB with 133 dB of dynamic range. The mic ships with its custom shockmount and the RNT floor box, which is both the power supply and the pattern control.
