Telex/RTS BP-4000 Single-Channel Universal Beltpack (A5F Connector)

The BP-4000 is a single-channel universal beltpack that configures itself to the system it is plugged into. A mode-sensing circuit detects whether it is connected to an RTS, Audiocom, or Clear-Com two-wire party line and sets itself up accordingly, so one pack can move between houses and rental inventories without internal jumpers or switches. Short spoken voice prompts walk the user through the menu when settings do need changing. This version carries the A5F (5-pin female) headset connector.

Both dynamic and electret headset microphones are supported, and a 3-pin XLR loops the line through the pack for daisy-chaining. Enhanced talk-button control and a remote microphone-kill function let any user mute every mic on the line at once. Intelligent power management lets up to 40 beltpacks share a single optional PS-20 supply, with a current-pump circuit metering cable length against draw so each pack gets the voltage it needs.
