Telex DSI-2008 Digital System-to-System Adapter
The DSI-2008 is a dual digital hybrid that ties a two-wire partyline into a four-wire matrix intercom. It interfaces two 2-wire lines to two 4-wire lines, or one 2-wire line to one 2-wire line, and unlike the analog hybrids it replaces (the SSA-424 and SSA-424A) it uses digital signal processing to null the two-wire side automatically. That keeps the far-end voice out of the return path without the constant knob-tweaking older hybrids demanded.
On the two-wire side it works with RTS TW and Audiocom systems; on the four-wire side it connects to ADAM, ADAM-M, ADAM CS, Zeus, and Zeus III matrix systems. Peak-reading level meters on each hybrid let an engineer match levels between the two worlds at a glance, and the DSI-2008-CALL variant adds bi-directional call-signal interfacing so tally and call light pass between the systems. It accepts a wide 100 to 250 VAC input.
