Hiwatt SUPER-HI 50 Head
The Super-Hi 50 brings the Custom Super-Hi circuit down to a lower price without changing the valves that make it work: EL34s, for 50 watts of output that does not break up or sag when the preamp is doing the distorting.
Mike Fortin took the DR504 chassis and hot-rodded it, and the result found its way to Josh Elmore, Brian Fallon and Ben McLeod. Two channels of cascading valve gain with a channel-independent Super-Hi boost give four levels of overdrive, and a passive effects loop sits ahead of the power section so delays and modulation stay clean. Oversized transformers hold the bottom end together.
