Hiwatt Custom 20 Combo 1x12

The Custom 20 combo pairs the twin-EL84 Custom 20 chassis with a 12-inch Fane F25, a speaker chosen for midrange presence and crunch rather than maximum handling, in a format one person can carry into a club.

The 2025 revision added a Bright switch and a push-pull gain boost. Bright adds treble to clean tones at low volume or tightens gain sounds when the amp is wound up; the boost works on both the high and low inputs and thickens the preamp harmonically. Those two interact with the input impedance choice, which is how a simple front panel covers a lot of ground. A Fane Purpleback 150 is available as a speaker upgrade.
