AKG C636 WL1 Wireless Condenser Microphone Head
The C636 WL1 puts AKG's C636 handheld condenser capsule on a wireless transmitter. It is a 3/4 inch back-electret with a 24-carat gold-plated diaphragm, custom tuned by hand, and it carries forward the voicing of the classic C535 rather than trying to sound like a studio large-diaphragm on a stick. Cardioid pattern, 150 dB maximum SPL, and a 20 dB(A) noise floor.
What separates it from a plain capsule swap is the mechanical work: a double shock suspension system isolates the element from handling noise, and a multi-layer pop screen behind a spring-steel wire-mesh grille handles plosives without the tonal dip a foam windshield introduces. The head threads onto DHT800 and HT4500 handheld transmitters, so a singer moves their sound onto an existing DMS800 or WMS4500 system without changing the RF.
