Vizrt Viz CaptureCast NDI Lecture Capture Server
Viz CaptureCast is a network appliance for capturing rooms: lecture theatres, meeting rooms and event spaces that need recording, composing, streaming and publishing without anyone in the room running it. Sources arrive as NDI or NDI|HX2, with three concurrent NDI inputs on the base perpetual licence, and workflows can be single, dual or triple channel, picture-in-picture, or ISO plus PiP. PTZ cameras get a start and end position per workflow, so a session can frame itself.
The output side is built around the video management systems universities already run. CaptureCast is a Panopto Technology Partner and Panopto Certified as a remote recorder, and it publishes to Kaltura and Opencast as well as streaming RTMP or SRT to YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook Live, Akamai or a custom profile. Recordings write to a local 2 TB drive or transfer on completion to Vizrt Network Remote Storage with metadata, and AWS speech-to-text plus scene change detection and OCR index the result. The server is an Intel Xeon machine with 16 GB RAM on Debian Linux, with redundant power supplies and a rack kit in the box.
