Vizrt NRS16 EXP Expansion Chassis, 192TB Configured

The NRS16 EXP is how an NRS system grows. It is a full-depth 3RU expansion chassis that attaches over SAS to an NRS16, an NRS8 or an NRS Nearline and presents its drives as more of the same protected volume, so the crew keeps one share, one ShareBrowser catalog and one set of paths rather than a second server to remember. Vizrt rates each expansion chassis at up to 160TB, and this order configuration ships with 192TB of drives.

An NRS16 or NRS Nearline takes up to four expansion chassis; an NRS8 takes one. The chassis is available in SSD and HDD builds and carries a redundant power supply, matching the head unit it sits under in the rack. Because the capacity joins the existing volume rather than forming a new one, growing files being recorded from a TriCaster or Viz 3Play stay editable in Adobe Premiere Pro over NDI Tools while the capture continues, and the automations, transcoding and remote workflow tools already licensed on the head unit cover the added storage with nothing further to buy.
