Telex LMS-325 Modular Amplified Loudspeaker
The LMS-325 is a self-powered 5-watt monitor speaker for RTS rack- and console-mounted intercom systems. It pulls a two-wire intercom line into the open air so an operator can hear a channel across a booth or a truck without wearing a headset, and it can monitor one or two intercom or program sources at once. A front-panel volume control and an external balance control let the listener ride the mix, and its own power pack drives the amplifier so the speaker never loads down the RTS TW channel it is listening to.
An XLR-3 connector takes the two-channel RTS intercom line and separate phono jacks handle each program input. The driver is a wide-range 8-ohm speaker, and the whole unit is magnetically shielded so it can sit right beside a video monitor without disturbing the picture. It shares the 1RU, half-rack-width form factor of the rest of the RTS user-station line, so two fit side by side in a single rack space.
