Martin Audio SXC118 18" Cardioid Subwoofer

SXC118 is the 18-inch cardioid ground-stack box, built for shows where the low end has to hit the audience and nowhere else. The forward-facing 18" ferrite driver and rear-facing 14" neodymium driver run on separate amplifier channels; the resulting cancellation behind the cabinet keeps the stage clean and the spill off the back of the room, while the front reaches 43Hz within 3dB and 140dB peak.

Both drivers use waterproof cones and the cabinet is multi-laminate birch and poplar ply in a textured black paint with a HEX-perforated steel grille. Base skids mate with top channels for stacking, an M20 thread plate takes a pole, and there are bar handles on each side, sixteen M10 mounting points, sixteen M8 castor inserts and four transit cover fittings. Weight is 69kg, or 73kg with the optional castors fitted.
