Martin Audio SXCF118 18" Flyable Cardioid Subwoofer
SXCF118 is the flyable build of Martin Audio's 18-inch cardioid subwoofer. Acoustically it matches SXC118 to the decimal, an 18" forward driver and a 14" rear driver on separate amplifier channels producing 140dB peak from 43Hz, but the cabinet adds an integral rigging system that hangs up to 16 enclosures from a dedicated flying frame. It ground-stacks just as happily.
The difference you feel is in the shell: multi-laminate birch ply finished in textured black polyurea rather than paint, which is what takes the knocks on a touring cardioid array. Skids and mating top channels, an M20 pole-mount plate, bar handles on both sides and four transit cover fittings are all carried over. Weight rises to 75kg, or 78kg with the optional castors.
