Chauvet DJ Intimidator Hybrid 251SR True Beam-Spot-Wash Hybrid on an Osram SIRIUS HRI 251W Discharge Lamp

The Intimidator Hybrid 251SR is a genuine three-in-one: an Osram SIRIUS HRI 251W discharge lamp behind a motorized zoom that runs 1 to 3 degrees as a beam, 12 to 23 as a spot, and 7 to 19 as a wash. That is not a frost filter faking it - the optics actually reconfigure, and the numbers show it, at 500,411 lux at 5 meters in a 1-degree beam and 376,927 lux in a 12-degree spot. For a mobile or small-install rig it replaces three fixtures.

Two gobo wheels sit in the path: nine rotating, indexing, slot-n-lock patterns on the first and seventeen fixed on the second, so they can be overlaid for morphing effects a single-wheel head cannot produce. Two prisms - a 5-facet round and a 6-facet linear - rotate independently and overlap. Twelve colors plus open scroll continuously with split positions. It takes 13 or 19 DMX channels over 3- or 5-pin XLR, draws 358W at 120V (three units per circuit), and weighs 35.6 lb. The lamp is a user-replaceable Osram SIRIUS HRI 251W.
