Blackmagic ATEM Studio Converter 2
The ATEM Studio Converter 2 is the studio-end of Blackmagic's optical fiber camera system, packing four bidirectional fiber-to-SDI converters into a single rack unit. Each of its four single-mode fiber inputs uses an LC connector and switches between SD and HD, feeding four switchable 10-bit SD/HD-SDI outputs to the switcher. It connects to up to four ATEM Camera Converter units at once, and multiple Studio Converter 2 units cascade together when a production needs more than four cameras.
Beyond video it carries the talkback that makes multi-camera live work possible: a built-in mic input, speaker and headphone jack, a front-mounted balanced XLR mic connector and aviation-style headset connectors let the director talk to every camera operator. Audio runs at the 48kHz television sample rate with 24-bit conversion. Power is 110 to 220V AC with a redundant 12 to 31V DC input. It carries Blackmagic part number BMD-SWRCONVRCK2.
