Blackmagic SDI Expander 8x12G

The Blackmagic SDI Expander 8x12G converts 12G-SDI to 100G Ethernet IP video in both directions. It handles 8 x 12G-SDI in and 8 x 12G-SDI out across all HD and Ultra HD video standards up to 2160p60, with automatic detection of HD and Ultra HD on the SDI side, so an SDI room joins a SMPTE ST 2110 plant without re-cabling every source.

On the network side there are two 100G QSFP28 connections supporting ST 2022-7 redundant delivery of IP streams over two separate 2110 networks, carrying 8 Ultra HD or HD senders and receivers per 100G pair. Sixteen channels of embedded audio ride each SDI connection and each 2110 IP video stream, and a 1G RJ45 handles NMOS control, configuration and firmware updates. A 6.35mm headphone jack provides local audio monitoring, and two IEC C14 inputs feed the unit.
