Blackmagic Studio Fiber Converter

The Blackmagic Studio Fiber Converter is the studio-end half of a SMPTE fiber camera link, letting you run a remote camera up to 2 km from the studio or outside broadcast truck over a single hybrid fiber cable. It carries a 12G-SDI HD or Ultra HD camera feed back to the switcher along with three independent HD return feeds out to the camera, and its 1x SMPTE 304 female hybrid fiber connector supports the SMPTE 259M, 292M, 296M, 372M, 424M Level B and 425M standards.

The fiber connector sits on the front panel next to a built-in 5-inch LCD, so you can plug a camera in and see its feed immediately. Beyond video it carries camera control, PTZ, two dual-channel talkback intercoms, tracker talkback and tally, with audio at 48kHz and 24-bit conversion. The unit runs on 100 to 240V AC and delivers power up the fiber to the remote camera and its accessories.
