sE Electronics X1 R Passive Ribbon Microphone

The X1 R puts a hand-crafted 2.5 micron aluminium ribbon into the X1 chassis. It is passive and figure-8, with the gentle high-frequency roll-off above 16 kHz that makes ribbons useful on bright sources: guitar cabinets, brass, drum overheads and anything a condenser makes sound harsh.

The ribbon is phantom-protected, so an accidental 48 V will not destroy it, which matters on a shared session. Sensitivity is 1.8 mV/Pa, so give it a preamp with real gain. It ships with a swivel mic clip and stand thread adapter.
