The X1 S steps up from the X1 A to a hand-crafted 1 inch true condenser capsule, and the numbers move with it: 9 dB equivalent noise, 85 dB signal-to-noise and 30 mV/Pa of sensitivity. With both pads in, it handles 160 dB SPL, which is why it turns up on snare, kick outside and guitar cabinets as often as on vocals.

Switchable 10 and 20 dB attenuation and an 80 or 160 Hz low-cut are on the body. The mic ships with a stand clip and thread adapter; the X1 S Vocal Pack and Studio Bundle add the Isolation Pack and, in the bundle, an RF-X and a cable.
