Rode Stereo VideoMic Pro On-Camera Stereo Microphone
The Stereo VideoMic Pro is an on-camera microphone that records in real stereo rather than faking width from a single capsule. Two matched half-inch condenser capsules sit in an XY configuration, which keeps the image coherent and mono-compatible - the failure mode of most spaced on-camera pairs.
Three-stage gain control covers -10dB, 0dB and +20dB so the microphone can drive a DSLR preamp hard enough to stay out of its noise floor, and a 75Hz high-pass filter cuts handling and traffic rumble. An integrated Rycote Lyre suspension isolates the capsules from the camera body. Maximum SPL is 134dB and the whole assembly weighs 116g.
