Rode DeadKitten Artificial Fur Wind Shield
The DeadKitten is an artificial fur windshield for Rode's compact stereo microphones. Its long-pile synthetic fur breaks up moving air before it reaches the capsules, cutting the low-frequency rumble and buffeting that ruins outdoor recordings, while staying acoustically transparent so the high end and stereo image come through unchanged.
The muff slips over the microphone and secures without tools, and it is cut to fit the Rode SVM, SVMP, NT4 and iXY. At roughly 80 mm on a side and only 25 grams, it adds effective wind protection without weighing down a camera rig or a handheld recorder.
