Rode VideoMic Pro-R On-camera Microphone
The VideoMic Pro-R is an on-camera supercardioid shotgun microphone that upgrades the thin, noisy audio from a camera's built-in mic to broadcast-quality sound. Its supercardioid condenser capsule captures focused, directional audio from the subject in front while rejecting sound from the sides, which cuts room ambience and off-axis noise for cleaner interviews, vlogs and run-and-gun footage. An integrated Rycote Lyre suspension mounts the mic in a moulded rubber lyre that isolates it from camera handling and bump noise without the wear points of elastic bands.
It sits in the camera's accessory shoe and feeds a 3.5 mm output, powered by a single 9V battery for over 70 hours of use. Onboard controls include a switchable 80 Hz high-pass filter to roll off low rumble and a three-stage gain control to match the camera's input, and a high-quality windshield is included for recording outdoors.
