Crestron IV-SAM-VX2 Automate VX Series 2 Multi-Camera Switching System
Automate VX takes microphone activity from the room DSP and uses it to decide which camera the far end sees, so a large room gets a shot of whoever is actually talking rather than a permanent wide. Series 2 adds visual AI for autoframing and reframing with Crestron 1 Beyond cameras, browser-based configuration with user administration, and a REST API over TCP for third-party control. Titles, logos, backgrounds and multi-source layouts are built in a graphic designer inside the software, and program output records to internal 316 GB SSD storage as MP4 at up to 10 Mbps, with ISO recording to MOV and RTMP streaming to any server.
The difference between the two models is input capacity. The standard IV-SAM-VX2-S takes three 3G-SDI camera inputs and up to five NDI|HX sources; the Pro IV-SAM-VX2-P takes seven SDI and up to twelve NDI|HX. Both are 2RU steel chassis with 400 W supplies, three gigabit-plus LAN ports, Dante audio in and out (Dante licence not included), and an SDI to USB-A 3.0 converter in the box for feeding a Teams or Zoom Rooms codec as a virtual webcam.
