Audio-Technica AT831R
The AT831 is a cardioid condenser lavalier microphone made for situations where feedback or room noise is a problem. Its cardioid pattern favors the wearer and rejects sound from the sides and rear, which tames feedback on a live stage. That focus makes it a better choice than an omni lavalier in loud or reverberant rooms.
It also works well clipped to acoustic instruments that need isolation. Powered by phantom or battery depending on the version, it delivers clean, present speech from a discreet package. It connects through a power module to a standard XLR output for a dependable feed.
