Audio-Technica AT831B

The AT831b is the cardioid condenser lavalier from Audio-Technica's AT831 family, the same capsule as the AT831R but powered by either 11-52V phantom or a 1.5V AA battery so it works whether or not phantom is available. Its cardioid pattern favors the wearer and rejects sound from the sides and rear, which controls feedback and room noise where an omnidirectional lavalier would struggle.

A 6 foot cable connects to the included AT8531 power module for a clean XLRM feed, and an AT8444 instrument adapter lets it clip to acoustic instruments that need isolation. The kit ships with an AT8116 windscreen, AT8419 clothing clip, battery, and a protective carrying case.
