Audio-Technica AT2050
The AT2050 is a multi-pattern side-address studio condenser that puts three polar patterns in a single microphone. A switch selects cardioid, omnidirectional, or figure-of-eight, so one mic covers close vocals, room ambience, and stereo or mid-side techniques. A switchable 80 Hz roll-off tames low-end rumble and proximity buildup, while a 10 dB pad lets it handle loud sources without overloading.
Its transformerless circuitry and large diaphragm deliver low noise and a smooth, natural response across the range. It runs on 11 to 52V phantom power over a 3-pin XLR output, working with a wide range of interfaces and mixers. The AT2050 ships with the AT8458 shock mount, making it a versatile, affordable multi-pattern option for the project or professional studio.
