Whirlwind DCSP1 48 V Phantom Power Supply
The DCSP1 supplies phantom power to condenser microphones at a Whirlwind SPC Series splitter, where the console feed is blocked by the splitter transformers. It replaces the earlier PS48. A linear regulated design keeps noise low with no RF to worry about, and a toroidal power transformer keeps the stray magnetic field, and therefore the induced hum, down.
It delivers up to 500 mA, enough for roughly 48 channels of phantom powered microphones, and connects through screw terminals. Diode OR-ing circuits let two or more units run in parallel for redundancy on critical work: with two connected each carries half the load, and if one fails the other takes over.
