sE Electronics RN17 Omni Capsule

This is the interchangeable omnidirectional capsule for the RN17. Swapping it onto an RN17 body gives you a pattern with no proximity effect and even off-axis response, which is what orchestral and ensemble recording, room and ambient miking, and overhead work actually want.

The capsule uses a hand-crafted gold-sputtered diaphragm and is individually calibrated so pairs track each other. Self-noise on the RN17 drops to 15 dB with the omni head fitted, against 18 dB in cardioid.
