sE Electronics RN17 Cardioid Capsule

This is the interchangeable cardioid capsule for the RN17 small-diaphragm condenser. It uses a true condenser design, externally polarised rather than electret, with a gold-sputtered diaphragm that sE describes as the smallest it makes. That combination is what gives the RN17 its transient response on strings, woodwind, brass and percussion.

Each capsule is hand-crafted and individually tuned so that two of them track each other, which is the point of buying the matched pair. It threads onto any RN17 body.
