Panasonic HC-X20 4K Camcorder with 1.0-type Sensor
The HC-X20 shares the HC-X2's 1.0-type MOS sensor and 20x F2.8 to F4.5 zoom, f=8.8mm to 176mm, and drops the SDI board. For a shooter feeding a switcher or recorder over HDMI, that is the only difference that matters, and it takes a few hundred grams and a chunk of cost out of the package.
The sensor reads 20.92 million total pixels and 15.03 million effective in video. Recording covers MOV and MP4 in H.264 or HEVC plus AVCHD, with LPCM 48 kHz 24-bit audio in MOV, written to SDHC and SDXC cards. The HDMI Type A output runs 4:2:2 10-bit to 3840 x 2160/59.94p with timecode and remote record control. A 3.5-inch 2.76 million dot LCD and a 0.39-inch OLED viewfinder handle framing. The body weighs approximately 2.0kg bare and approximately 2.43kg rigged.
