Kramer VP-426 HDMI/Computer Graphics Video & HDTV ProScale Digital Scaler
The VP-426 takes whatever a conference room happens to be running - RGBHV computer graphics, YPbPr component video or HDMI - and up- or down-scales it to a clean output at resolutions up to WUXGA (1920x1200) or 1080p. Both the RGBHV and HDMI outputs run simultaneously, so the scaler can feed a legacy projector and an HDMI display from the same source at the same time. Input auto-scanning finds the live source without an operator hunting through a menu, and EDID capture reads and stores the display's timing so the source always negotiates the right resolution on power-up.
A built-in ProcAmp gives color, hue, sharpness, contrast and brightness controls for dialing a picture into a specific room, and non-volatile memory keeps those settings through a power cycle. Control comes from the front panel, an on-screen display, or a 3-pin contact-closure terminal block wired to a remote switch - useful for a lectern button that swaps sources without touching the unit. A rear USB port handles firmware updates, and the freeze button holds the last frame on screen during a source change.
