Kramer 6420N Balanced Stereo Audio to Digital Audio Format Converter
The Kramer 6420N converts a balanced analog stereo audio input into digital audio, presenting the result simultaneously on AES/EBU, AES-3id, S/PDIF, and TOSLINK outputs. One analog source therefore feeds four different digital destinations without a distribution stage.
Sampling rate is selectable at 32, 44.1, 48, or 96kHz, so the output can be matched to whatever the receiving device expects rather than forcing a rate conversion downstream. Left and right gain are adjustable independently, and a conversion setting of 0dB, -12dB, -16dB, -20dB, or -24dB sets where the analog input sits relative to digital full scale, which is how you avoid clipping a hot source.
