Crestron DGE-1000 Digital Graphics Engine
The DGE-1000 is the box that makes a plain HD display behave like a Crestron touch panel. It drives the panel over HDMI, takes the panel's touch data back over USB, and renders a Crestron HTML5 interface for audio, video, lighting, shades, HVAC and security. Because the graphics are HTML5, the same project that runs on a Crestron touch screen runs here, and localization is already covered: Smart Graphics, the on-screen keyboard and the browser each ship with a long language list including Arabic, both Chinese scripts, and most of Europe.
It is also a video device in its own right. An HDMI input at up to 1920x1080 at 60 Hz passes source video through to the HDMI output with HDCP and EDID managed on both sides, 1.4 on the input and 2.2 on the output, so a laptop or a cable box can appear on the same panel as the control page. A built-in streaming decoder handles H.264 and H.265 up to 20 Mbps at 1080p30 with AAC stereo, which is how a camera feed reaches the screen without a separate decoder. Gigabit Ethernet, a balanced stereo line output, an IR/serial port and an RS-232 port cover the rest of the room.
