The Hurricane Haze 1DX is the small, quiet end of Chauvet DJ's haze line - 7.2 lb in an 11 x 6 x 9 inch box, drawing 303W, and ready two minutes after you switch it on. It puts out 3,000 cfm of fine water-based haze, enough to make beams visible in a club room or a house of worship without fogging the space, and the fan is quiet enough to leave running during a service or a speech.

Stand-alone operation is handled from a built-in volume knob and a digital display, so it works without a console; add DMX and it takes a single channel over 3-pin XLR. The 0.4-gallon tank lasts a long night at 4 ml per minute. Chauvet lists HFG as the compatible fluid. Its small footprint is the point - it fits under a riser, behind a DJ booth, or on a truss shelf where a full-size hazer will not go.
