AKG D40 Instrument Microphone
The D40 is a professional instrument dynamic with a solid all-metal body built for the wear of nightly stage use. Its patented Varimotion diaphragm uses a laminated material to damp high resonance peaks, giving a punchy, detailed sound on toms, snare, congas, brass, and cabinets while a sturdy wire-mesh cap lets it take very high SPL without complaint.
An integrated stand adapter and the included H440 mounting bracket let it clamp quickly to a drum rim or place low in front of an amp, so one microphone covers a range of close-miking jobs. The cardioid pattern rejects spill from neighboring sources on a busy stage.
