JVC KA-MC100G SSD Media Adapter
The KA-MC100G is a media caddy that lets a GY-HC500 or GY-HC550 Connected Cam camcorder record to an off-the-shelf M.2 SSD. Dropping an SSD into the adapter raises the camera's recording ceiling from UHD 4K 30/25p on an SD card to UHD 4K 60/50p in 10-bit ProRes 422, the format editors want for graded, broadcast-finish work. The drive itself is not included, which keeps the cost of media in the operator's hands.
It accepts SATA M.2 Type 2280 SSDs; NVMe drives in the same physical form factor are not compatible, so drive selection matters. Once a shoot wraps, the caddy connects to a computer over USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 for fast offload, so cards cycle back into the field quickly. It pairs naturally with the GY-HC550 and GY-HC500 bodies it was built for.
