A boom pole is what puts a shotgun mic exactly where the dialogue is while the operator stays out of frame. The BC06P is the 6-foot carbon fibre pole in E-Image's range - the short one, for interiors, seated interviews and anywhere a longer pole would be swinging into a light or a ceiling. Carbon fibre is what makes a pole held overhead for a full take bearable; an aluminium stick of the same length is heavier at exactly the wrong end.

The XLR cable runs inside the pole rather than spiralling around the outside, which stops the cable from snagging on the collars every time you extend, and stops handling noise from a loose cable slapping the tube. A side-output XLR base at the operator's end feeds a mixer or recorder without a connector sticking straight out into your ribs. It is built for ENG, EFP and documentary work.
