Ikan BC12 11 ft Carbon Fiber Boom Pole
The BC12 is the carbon fiber version of Ikan's 11-foot boom pole, trading aluminum for a lighter, stiffer carbon tube that fatigues the operator less over a long day of booming. Four independent friction-locked sections extend from a 34.5 inch collapsed length out to 138 inches, letting a boom operator place a shotgun mic precisely above talent and lock each section where it lands. A cable raceway routes the mic cable through the pole to keep it clear of the frame.
The business end carries a 3/8 in.-16 or 1/4 in.-20 mounting thread that mates with common shock mounts and mic clips. Carbon fiber resists sag at full extension better than aluminum, and the pole ships with a padded case and shoulder pad for transport.
