Chauvet DJ Abyss 2

Abyss 2 projects a moving, multicolored water ripple. The useful part is that it works in a clean room: most liquid-effect fixtures need haze to show anything, and this one puts a legible pattern on a surface with nothing in the air. Ripple movement and color are on separate controls, so you can hold a slow drift while the color changes, or freeze the color and speed the water up.

A single 60 W LED drives it through a 60 degree coverage angle at 5,010 lux at 2 m, with five colors plus white and a rainbow scroll. It takes three DMX channels over 3-pin XLR, and a manual focus knob sharpens the pattern at whatever throw you have. If there is no console in the rig, the digital display or the optional IRC-6 remote reaches most settings, and up to 7 units power link at 120 V.
