Chauvet DJ COLORband PiX-M ILS Moving Strip Light
The COLORband PiX-M ILS is a ten-pixel strip light mounted on a motorised yoke with 245 degrees of tilt. That buys two things: sweeping beam effects across a room, and - less glamorous but more often useful - the ability to re-aim a fixture from the booth after the room layout changes, instead of walking over with a wrench.
Each of the ten 6-watt tri-color LEDs is individually addressable, so the bar runs animations and video-style effects as well as straight washes and blinder hits. Seven DMX modes run from 5 to 36 channels on 3- or 5-pin XLR, and control also comes via ILS, the built-in RF receiver with an optional RFC or RFC-XL, or D-Fi USB for wireless master/slave. It puts out 7,441 lux at 2 metres from a 15-degree beam, draws 86 W, and power-links twelve deep at 120 V.
