Audio-Technica BP4002 Omni Dynamic Interview Microphone
The BP4002 is the omnidirectional version of Audio-Technica's ENG interview microphone line, built for the same on-location interviews, ENG, EFP, and sports work as the BP4001, but with a pickup pattern that captures sound evenly from all directions rather than favoring what's directly in front of the capsule. That makes it the better choice when a reporter is holding the mic between two speakers or working a noisy environment where picking up ambient sound intentionally is part of the shot.
Like its cardioid sibling, its back-cavity assembly floats inside the handle shell to isolate handling noise from the signal, and the housing is built to take the daily knocks of field reporting. It ships with the same field-ready kit: a slip-on foam windscreen, vinyl carrying case, soft protective pouch, and a professional stand clamp.
