Tiffen 62mm UV Protector Filter
The UV Protector is Tiffen's everyday guard for the front of a lens: a screw-in piece of optical glass that takes the dust, moisture, fingerprints and scratches that would otherwise land on a front element. It absorbs ultraviolet light and pulls the bluish cast out of daylight - useful at altitude and near water - while adding no color or contrast of its own, which is why it can stay on the lens permanently and still sit under a polarizer or an ND when you need one.
The glass is what separates it from a cheap filter. Tiffen's ColorCore process laminates the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass, grinds it flat to a tolerance of one ten-thousandth of an inch, then mounts it in a precision ring, so protecting the lens does not cost you sharpness. This is the 62mm size, threading into any lens with a 62mm front. Made in the U.S.A.
