Tiffen 72mm UV Protector Filter
The UV Protector is Tiffen's everyday guard for the front of a lens: a screw-in piece of optical glass that stands between the front element and the dust, moisture, fingerprints and scratches of a working day. It absorbs ultraviolet light and takes the bluish cast off daylight, which shows up at altitude and around water, and it contributes no color or contrast of its own - so it can live on the lens permanently and still stack under a polarizer or an ND.
Tiffen's ColorCore process laminates the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass and grinds it flat to a tolerance of one ten-thousandth of an inch before mounting it into the ring, so the filter does not soften the image it is protecting. This is the 72mm size. It threads onto the JVC GY-HM600, GY-HM620, GY-HM650 and GY-HM660, which all use a 72mm front, and onto the Fujinon XA20x4.1BMA 20x lens. Made in the U.S.A.
